Protein French Toast

Crush-Nutrition-Protein-French-Toast

Who doesn’t love French toast? When I was a kid I would beg my parents to make this for me every morning because not only did it taste amazing but it’s so simple to make! As I got older not only did I realise that French toast wasn’t just for breakfast but by adding a scoop of protein powder it would make the ultimate protein packed meal. Your taste buds and muscles will be thanking you for this.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 slices of bread ( I used Sara Lee 45 cal bread )
  • 100g egg whites
  • 1 tbsp protein powder
  • Cinnamon
  • Toppings of choice ( I chose 50g strawberries and 1tbsp peanut butter)
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Pour egg whites into a large bowl
  2. Add in 1 tbsp of protein powerCrush-Nutrition-Protein-French-Toast
  3. Stir mixture until both egg whites and protein are combinedCrush-Nutrition-Protein-French-Toast
  4. Cut up desired toppings and set asideCrush-Nutrition-Protein-French-Toast
  5. Place the bread in mixture and coat both sides
  6. Spray pan with cooking spray, heat to medium and place bread in panCrush-Nutrition-Protein-French-Toast
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon on both sides of bread ( I like to do this once the bread is in the pan for a stronger cinnamon taste – feel free to add the cinnamon to the mixture and skip this step)
  8. Cook bread until golden brown on both sides – about 5 minutes each sideCrush-Nutrition-Protein-French-Toast
  9. Once cooked place on plate, top with desired toppings and enjoy!Crush-Nutrition-Protein-French-Toast

190 calories; 26g protein, 17g carbs, 2g fat

Macros for French toast with toppings:
310 calories; 30g protein, 25g carbs, 10g fat
